"The red bean was very sweet, even after I asked for less sugar. The mee rebus was okay, not bad. The yam cake was good; the pieces weren't too small, but it could have had a better aroma. You can hear other people talking very clearly because the space is small and very close to other people. It's not very convenient if you want a quiet place."

Char kway had a lot of eggshells in it. I was hoping it would be super crispy, but nope! Just eggshells!!
I told the staff about the eggshells, but they didn't acknowledge it.
Edit: Reply to management's reply: Maybe don't put eggshells in the dish?

This place was quite crowded at 6.50pm on a Friday evening. Staff were friendly, polite, and kept to themselves.
102 海南奶茶 Hainanese Milk Tea (Iced, No Sugar) = RM5.90
This was served in a big cup and icy cold. Nice, rich tea taste, and even without sugar, I still found it to be delicious and creamy tasting. That said, I can't help but feel this may be brewed from a Lipton tea bag. I don't know why, I just got this feeling about it. Not sure what's so Hainanese about this; it tastes like a regular ice-cold milk tea.
719 蛋香炒粿 Char Kway = RM9.90
The chilli condiment has a noticeable presence of garlic with a slightly gritty texture. It almost feels like it's spicy, but it's actually not spicy. Quite an unusual chilli for a Char Kway.
Amount of Kway looks generous. There is a nice fried savoury 蛋香味 eggy aroma. Bite texture is soft, but not super soft, and was a bit dryish. What I really liked were the sprinkling of fried onion pieces and Chai Poh, which gives it an occasional crunch and salty hit.
Overall taste is sweetish salty, leaning more towards sweet, but also not overly sweet. There is no Wok Hei in this, but it was still a very decent and acceptable tasting Char Kway.
That said, I thought the chilli/sambal condiment should have a spicier kick because it did feel a bit out of place and didn't really pair well with this Char Kway.

I'm surprised there aren't any Google reviewers who mentioned this dish because it looked so unique!
Presentation is beautiful and looks exactly how it's shown in the menu. The presentation would not look out of place in a higher end 酒楼. Whoever designed this dish knew what they were doing.
The white porridge itself is not just plain porridge, as it is slightly salted with a subtle undertone of peanut and cuttlefish.
The braised sauce has a delightful sweetish herbal taste. No idea what herbs are used, but I reckon Dang Gui probably plays an important role. Not overly salty or oily, this braised sauce tastes good.
The centerpiece chicken drummy is huge! It's a whole drummy with a thigh. The meat has a nice tender bite. It does have a slightly elevated chickeny taste, but luckily not too overpowering. I thought the meat was also slightly dry, but still acceptable.
The chicken meat itself doesn't taste herbal at all, but more slightly sweetish. In fact, this chicken has a Soya Chicken 酱油鸡 sort of taste. Not overly oily at all. The herbal element really only comes from the braised Zhup.
Shredding the chicken and eating it with the porridge and herbal Zhup together was satisfying. The whole combo has a lightly braised, lightly salted taste, and it was the herbal braised Zhup that held it all together.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At RM5.90 (S$1.90) for this Milk Tea, I thought it was a decent quality to pay, although I feel there is nothing really special about it.
At RM9.90 (S$3.10) for the Char Kway, this was decent. As long as you don't expect any Wok Hei, it's decent tasting and worth a try. That said, I feel their non-spicy sambal was too weak.
At RM19.90 (S$6.10) for this Herbal Chicken Porridge, I definitely liked this the best.
The way this was presented had a lot of thought that had gone into it, and the dish itself was tasty. The amount of chicken given was acceptable for the price.
Although the chicken itself isn't 入味 with herbal flavours, the braised herbal sauce helped a lot. As I mentioned, this dish feels like it would particularly appeal to the elderly because of its general soft texture and the fact that the dish itself is herbal and nutritious. Definitely worth a try.
Overall, not a bad modern Kopitiam eatery and the foods were decent tasting. I enjoyed my dining experience here.

"My favorite cafe, always, during my visits to Tebrau City! All the food is nice and up to standard. I especially like the stir-fried rice cake! I can’t find others better than this cafe! The price is reasonable, and the staff are nice and serve fast, too! I recommend having a coffee break here! But sometimes there are a lot of people, and you have to wait!"

My family and I eat here EVERY TIME we come to Malaysia! We really love the main courses as much as the desserts! Would recommend the rat tail noodles!

This is seriously the best food place ever, especially for breakfast or brunch! They even have old-school steamed tapioca! It was so perfect with the gula melaka and coconut milk!
Both drinks were awesome. Even their curry laksa noodles were perfectly made! Their chocolate toast bread was crunchy. Seriously great!

Ordered the Jawa Mee, which is similar to Mee Rebus in Singapore. The gravy is flavorful and doesn't become too rich or cloying quickly. It cost RM9.90.
The Hainanese milk tea is surprisingly not too sweet (RM 5.2).
