Chicken balls are back on the Swedish Restaurant menu at IKEA Tebrau from 6 October 2026. Regular plates start at RM10.90 for eight pieces, IKEA Family members get a soup combo and breakfast nasi lemak cut, and kids eat free for four days if you already hold a Family card.
IKEA Malaysia lists the dish as a seasonal return, not a permanent staple. The same menu page covers every Malaysian store, including the Tebrau outlet next to Toppen Shopping Centre at No. 33, Jalan Harmonium, Taman Desa Tebrau, 81100 Johor Bahru. Restaurant hours here are 9:30am to 9:30pm daily. The store itself opens at 10:00am, so breakfast is the one window where you can eat before the showroom floor unlocks.
All Swedish Restaurant, Bistro and Cafe menus are halal-certified. Join IKEA Family for free at the member portal if you want the member prices. Staff will ask for the physical card or the eCard in the member app. No card, no Family price.
Plate prices from 6 October
The restaurant prices an 8-piece chicken ball plate at RM10.90 and a 12-piece plate at RM13.90 from 6 October onwards. Kids chicken ball is RM5.90. Those three prices are the walk-in rates, Family card or not.
Family members can add mushroom soup to the 8-piece plate for RM13.90 instead of RM15.80. That combo runs 6 October to 16 November 2026. Mushroom soup on its own is RM4.90 if you want it later in the meal.
Breakfast is the tighter window. Nasi lemak with chicken ball is RM7.90 for Family members, RM8.90 otherwise, every day from 6 October, 9:30am to 11:00am only. After 11:00am you are back on the regular plates. If you want the cheaper morning set, get in when the restaurant opens, not after a full furniture loop.
The rest of the breakfast board is still there if someone at the table does not want chicken ball. Naan bread with curry is RM2.90 on Monday. Beehoon Siam is RM2 on Tuesday. Ipoh hor fun with shredded chicken is RM2.90 on Wednesday. Fried rice is RM1.90 on Thursday. Mee goreng mamak is RM2.50 Friday to Sunday. Western breakfast with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, hashbrown and baked beans is RM6.90 for Family members, RM7.90 otherwise. Nasi lemak with the signature fried chicken wing stays RM5.90 every day.
Kids Eat Free, 6 to 9 October only
Kids Eat Free runs 6 to 9 October 2026. One free kids chicken ball per child comes with one main course from the regular adult menu. The child has to be present at checkout and under 12. The offer is for IKEA Family members and dine-in only. Takeaway does not count. After 9 October, kids chicken ball returns to RM5.90.
Other kids plates stay on the board: 5-piece chicken nuggets with broccoli and fries at RM5.90, and kids beef meatballs at RM6.50. The Family combo for weekdays is a different deal. It bundles one chicken chop with black pepper sauce, one pasta in tomato sauce with meatballs, two mushroom soups and two kids chicken nuggets for RM39.90 against a RM45.40 a-la-carte total. That combo is every weekday except public holidays.
Monday to Wednesday specials, 13 to 29 October
From 13 to 29 October 2026, Family members get 25 percent off three weekday mains. Monday is 8-piece chicken ball at RM8.15, down from RM10.90. Tuesday is Alaska pollock fish and chips with broccoli at RM10.10, down from RM13.50. Wednesday is 8-piece beef meatballs at RM9.00, down from RM12.00. Each special is that day only. The pollock is MSC certified. These cuts sit on top of the chicken-ball return, so a Family card in the last two weeks of October is worth more than it is in early October.
Baked chicken mandi with biryani rice is RM16.90 on weekdays from 6 October to 30 November 2026, excluding public holidays. It is a weekday-only plate, so a Saturday visit will not have it. Chicken chop with black pepper sauce, mashed potatoes and broccoli is RM13.90 if you want a year-round chicken main instead.
Dessert during the same window includes Secret Recipe Biscoff cheesecake at RM9.90 for Family members, RM10.90 otherwise, 6 October to 16 November 2026. Swedish almond cake is RM7.50. The FIKA set of crunchy almond chocolate cake and coffee is RM8.50 daily from 3pm to 5pm.
Getting to the restaurant at IKEA Tebrau
The restaurant sits inside IKEA Tebrau at Toppen Shopping Centre, eastern Johor Bahru. There is no MRT. Buses from JB Sentral and Larkin stop at the Toppen / IKEA Tebrau cluster. Drivers park in the Toppen car park. IKEA validates an RM1 rebate for the first three hours if you buy something in the IKEA store. Monday to Thursday, cars pay RM2 for the first three hours, then RM1 each extra hour. Friday to Sunday and public holidays, cars pay RM3 for the first three hours. Motorbikes are RM1 per entry on weekdays and RM2 on weekends and public holidays.
IKEA Malaysia has been cashless since 1 September 2026. Bring a card or e-wallet. Click & Collect at this store runs 12:00pm to 8:00pm if you are pairing lunch with a furniture pickup. Småland, the play area for kids between 100cm and 130cm, is 3:00pm to 8:00pm on weekdays and 10:00am to 8:30pm on weekends, 10 kids per session.
The Swedish Food Market on the way out still has Family grocery cuts through 30 November 2026, including two 1kg frozen chicken cheese balls at RM45.90 instead of RM51.80. That is take-home stock, not the restaurant plate.
