Tourism Malaysia and AEON Partner to Boost Visit Malaysia 2026 Campaign
In a significant move to bolster the nation's tourism sector ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), a new strategic partnership has been forged between AEON Co. (M) Bhd and Tourism Malaysia. The collaboration was officially inaugurated by YB Tuan Chiew Choon Man, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, during a vibrant ceremony held at AEON Mall Shah Alam on January 23, 2026.
A Festive Start to a National Campaign
The launch event, which coincided with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations, highlights the synergy between the private retail sector and national tourism goals. Also in attendance was YBrs. Encik Chua Choon Hwa, the Deputy Secretary-General (Tourism) of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC). This partnership aims to leverage AEON’s extensive retail footprint to promote Malaysia as a premier travel destination to both local and international visitors.
Exclusive Merchandise for Shoppers
As part of the initial phase of this cooperation, AEON has introduced exclusive commemorative merchandise to spark excitement for the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign. Shoppers can now receive a specially designed ‘tote bag’ and ‘headband’ as a complimentary gift with any purchase of RM350 or more at AEON Malls. This promotion, which began on the day of the launch, serves as a tangible way for citizens and tourists to participate in the national countdown to 2026.
Driving the MADANI Vision Through Tourism
The initiative aligns closely with the Malaysia MADANI framework, reflecting MOTAC's ongoing commitment to enhancing the country’s tourism industry. By fostering high-level collaborations and creating unique cultural experiences, the ministry seeks to elevate Malaysia’s global standing. The partnership with AEON is a testament to the collective effort required to showcase the beauty and diversity of "Malaysia Truly Asia" on the world stage.
